Azua (Zizhan) Luo
Azua (Zizhan) Luo is a Junior at American University, pursuing a dual degree in Environmental Science and International Studies. She is interested in the intersection between science and policy, and is passionate about marine conservation and sustainable fisheries. Azua has worked with Environmental Defense Fund on Chinese marine law research and interned with the Wilson Center's Environmental Change and Security Program to further discussions on environmental policy. Her lab research at American University involves the study of foraminifera as a proxy for marine health. Currently, Azua is studying abroad at Oxford University - Lady Margaret Hall. Next summer, she will be working with NOAA on marine fishery research. She is working to start up a SOA chapter at American University for undergraduate, graduate, and law school students to make marine conservation a bigger conversation among young professionals.
