Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) is committed to accelerate 100 ocean technology startups by 2021 and is now seeking the most innovative ocean entrepreneurs from around the world to help them scale their solutions to the ocean’s greatest challenges.
SOA Accepting 15 Ocean Startups in 2019
Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) is launching the Second Wave Cohort of the Ocean Solutions Accelerator to support 15 of the world’s most brilliant startups focused on improving the health of the ocean. The Ocean Solution Accelerator partners with founders to provide the guidance and resources needed to develop their prototypes into market-ready solutions.
Upon acceptance into the program, SOA provides each startup with a US$25,000 investment. All startups in the Second Wave Cohort will participate in our 8-week leadership and development program — spanning from September 3 to October 17, 2019, in the San Francisco Bay Area (California, United States).
The Ocean Solution Accelerator provides unique and individualized guidance from SOA’s expansive community of mentors, partners, and investors. The program includes an 8-day ‘Accelerator at Sea’ expedition to Alaska, founder dinners, networking events, site visits, workshops, and speaker series. We thrive on connecting each founder with the best people to help them achieve their goals and bring their ocean technology to market. At the conclusion of the program, entrepreneurs will showcase their ocean solutions on stage at SOA’s Silicon Valley Ocean Tech Demo Day, and will participate in Our Ocean Conference in Oslo, Norway.
What we look for:
Founders with the knowledge and expertise to bring their solution to market.
Startups with a large target market that can support the growth of their business.
Startups that have found initial traction with customers, partners and/or investors.
Startups that are solving real problems in the ocean sector and improving ocean health.
The solution is feasible, scalable, and the startup has a plan for generating revenue.
The team is ambitious and their mission aligns with the values of Sustainable Ocean Alliance.
